Little Green Apples by Pamela Towns

“Little Green Apples”

Granny Smith apples carry the smell I associate with my childhood. I grew up with a green apple tree just outside my back door. In addition to fearlessly climbing the tree regularly, I survived eating many apples way before they were ripe. Just finished this piece embedded with some of my Mom’s handwritten recipes that I found while sorting through her things after she passed. She was an avid cook who loved complicated French recipes. Sorry, Mom, I am just not up for the challenge but happy to make you a part of my art.

Mixed-media collage with handwritten papers and vintage cookbook pages on canvas painted with colored tissue paper and acrylic paint.
